Seven West Media CEO Tim Worner to receive Médaille d’Honneur at MIPTV 2014 in Cannes

Tim-Worner.jpgMIPTV 2014, the world’s content market, will honour four leading television executives with the MIPTV Médaille d’Honneur Award, including Australia’s Tim Worner, CEO of Seven West Media.

Launched in 2013 on the occasion of MIPTV’s 50th anniversary, the prestigious Médaille d’Honneur is awarded to senior international executives who have, through their talent, leadership, and passion, made a significant contribution to the world of television and to the development of the international TV community. Organised by Reed MIDEM, MIPTV will take place in Cannes, from 7-10 April 2014.

The MIPTV 2014 Médaille d’Honneur awards will be presented by Reed MIDEM CEO Paul Zilk during a gala dinner on Wednesday 9 April at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes.

Worner, CEO of Seven West Media, the leading listed multi-platform media business in Australia, parent company of top-rated TV network, Seven Television. Worner started his broadcast career as a journalist at Channel Seven Perth. A consummate TV professional, he has worked in many capacities since joining the Seven Network in 1995. His roles have included Head of Program Development, Head of Sport in Melbourne and Head of Infotainment. He was appointed Director of Programming and Production in 2002 and CEO of Seven Network Television in 2011, and became CEO of Seven West Media on 1 July 2013.

The other honourees to receive the accolade are Marion Edwards, President of International Television, 20th Century Fox Television Distribution, Konstantin Ernst, Chief Executive Officer of Channel One Russia and Herbert G. Kloiber, Chairman and Owner, Tele München Group, one of Germany’s leading media companies.
