JoeHawkins.jpg303Lowe Perth has appointed expat creative Joe Hawkins as head of copy, as the agency continues to grow its creative team.

Hawkins has spent the last eight years working at some of the region’s best creative agencies, including four years at DDB New Zealand under ECD Toby Talbot, digital hot-shop R/GA Singapore, and Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney under ECD Damon Stapleton.

In that time he has held roles ranging from content strategist to creative director, and worked on campaigns for a diverse mix of clients including McDonalds, SkyTV, Cadbury, RipCurl, Toyota, MasterCard, Goldman Sachs, Stella Artois and VW.

Hawkins has picked up at every notable international and local award show, most recently winning a Silver Radio Lion at 2014 Cannes International Festival of Creativity. He’s also had the rare honour of winning New Zealand’s FairGo Best Ad Award – a publicly voted televised award show – two years in a row for his work with MasterCard and the All Blacks.

Says Richard Berney, creative director, 303Lowe: “Our creative department is in full bloom at the moment, and Joe is a colossal flower in this absurd metaphor. He’s besotted with advertising, keenly intelligent, and carefully disruptive – we’re all very lucky to have him back in the West, and I’m personally excited to have him by my side.”

Says Hawkins: “Before returning to Perth, I wanted to get an awesome job at a kick arse agency. And I’ve found just that. Lindsay, Richard, Al and Derry are a powerful team with a track record of pushing boundaries and delivering great work. It’s exciting to be a part of that, and I’d like to think I can add something extra to the team here.”

303Lowe has also appointed a new junior creative team Scott Pritchett (Art) and Dan Robinson (Copy). The duo is fresh out of AWARD School 2014. Pritchett is a graduate of Creative Advertising and Graphic Design at Curtin University, while Robinson is currently finishing his Honours in English and Cultural studies at UWA.

Says Robinson: “After four years of studying English my mum was surprised to find out that English students are employable. I’m glad of the opportunity to write something a bit different at 303Lowe. The senior copywriters give me a right bollocking for sounding too formal.”

Says Pritchett: “303Lowe have been top of the list for me in Perth since finishing AWARD school. I’m stoked to be a part of such an energetic agency.”
