Following a blistering start to the Cricket World Cup, Facebook and the International Cricket Council (ICC) today announced an exclusive video series with past cricketing greats, giving cricket fans across Australia and the world access to insider content from the game’s biggest names.

Housed on the ICC Facebook page, the Weekly Corner with Cricket Legends will kick off with Aussie superstar Shane ‘Warnie’ Warne delighting Facebook with a mix of World Cup predictions and career highlights including revelations on his favourite victory and toughest opponent.

Warne, who recently made headlines for claiming the Australian team couldn’t win the World Cup without injured captain Michael Clarke, is sure to provide further spice for Facebook fans throughout the World Cup.

Says Warne: “I’m excited to be home in Australia for six weeks of cricket and I’m looking forward to sharing my opinion on the game, shedding some light on what it’s like to be a player at a World Cup and having some friendly banter with all my mates on Facebook.”

Facebook’s head of media partnerships, Australia and New Zealand, Karren Rogers, said the partnership with the ICC and some of the world’s biggest cricket players was a big win for fans.

Says Rogers: “Facebook is the home of cricket in Australia and around the world, with over 100 million cricket fans on Facebook globally.

“We’re delighted to be able to share six weeks of exclusive content from cricket legends which will no doubt contribute to the conversation as fans connect and share opinions throughout the World Cup.”

The Weekly Corner with Cricket Legends is a weekly six part video series with exclusive content from cricket legends from India, England, Sri Lanka and Australia. Content will be published each Monday.
