Instagram to introduce video advertising

matt jacobson.jpgInstagram is introducing a new way for brands to tell their story through video advertising.

The video ads, which will roll out in the coming weeks, will be a way to connect the Instagram community with inspirational content from their favourite brands.

The video ads will allow brands to share their unique point of view through the power of visual language in one of the world’s most creative communities.

Instagram has partnered with select brands to launch the 3 to 15 second video ads and will maintain its hands-on approach in developing dynamic content.

With more than 300 million monthly actives, a little more than four years after launch, Instagram proves to be a powerful marketing tool for brands.

Says Matt Jacobson (pictured), Instagram’s head of growth: “I think video will be big and it’s going to change everything. That thinking of Instagram in terms of still images and being able to tell the story visually and then being able to tell it through a photo or auto-play video, that’s a lot for a brand to understand – and our users.”

Video ad partners include:

·         McDonalds

·         L’Oréal

·         New Zealand Tourism

·         Qantas
