CNG_MAY2016_BLOG_5.jpgThe lights dimmed, the movie rolled and representatives from Perth's agencies sat back in their chairs as Community Newspaper Group unveiled their latest digital advancements last week.

At the function room a la bar and movie cinema The Backlot in West Perth, murals of The Joker and Reservoir Dogs gazed down at the crowd as they mingled before CNG's very own opening credits.

The launch was both to celebrate and announce the upgraded changes to communitynews.com.au.  The revamped platform is now even more local, user friendly and SEO optimised to deliver the best results for readers and advertisers.
The event featured an introductory video to the website and CNG's hyperlocal content strategy. Editor in Chief Matt Zis and Group Digital Editor David Johns explained the new functions and content delivery of the site, as an interactive mouse guided viewers through sections and location filtering tools of the platform.

Sales Director Dawn Tingwell introduced the guests to the digital first strategy of communitynews.com.au and the exciting opportunities available in connecting readers to hyper local content.

The site already has a loyal content base growing in leaps and bounds month-to-month. Tingwell said the newly improved search engine optimization, redesigned website and strong social media channels meant there were exponential growth opportunities ahead.

Beyond the website, she also guided the audience through the multi-platform digital offerings from CNG, including enewsletters, social networks and epaper editions, all serving to keep local Perth readers engaged with community content through their chosen device and channel.

"Community Newspaper Group's mission is to deliver credible, engaging and relevant hyper-local content directly into the hands of Perth locals through their chosen print and digital channels," said Tingwell.  "We can now deliver local area marketing campaigns that combine our traditional strength in local print executions into our digital assets, whether website, enewsletter, sponsored content or social media."
