Advertising Week heading for Sydney in 2018; ex Fairfax Media’s Clive Prosser appointed director

Advertising_Week_Europe_London_2nd_Edition.jpegAdvertising Week, the premiere event for marketing, brand, advertising, and technology professionals, today confirms its global expansion to Sydney.

The news was confirmed at the fifth anniversary edition of Advertising Week Europe, which is taking place this week in London.

 

Advertising Week will host attendees in some of Sydney’s most iconic venues for a week of inspiring thought-leadership programming, evening and special events that celebrate the industry and its people.

Business leaders from will join together for a series of seminars and workshops that explore some of the biggest issues shaping the creative industries.

 

This expansion means that individual Advertising Week events will now take place in five major cities in different continents across the globe – New York, London, Tokyo, Mexico City and now Sydney.

Prosser will play a vital role in delivering a landmark festival for the industry and build momentum by further developing an impactful, year-round presence for the brand.

 

Nic Jones (above right), most recently Vevo’s former Chief Revenue Officer, will chair Advertising Week’s Advisory Council in Sydney after returning to Australia following an eight-year spell in the UK.

Their blend of skills and track record of success is exactly what we need to help propel Advertising Week into the future.”

 

In his previous role, Prosser spent six years building strong relationships with major national advertisers throughout the Fairfax Media network. Prior to this, he spent eight years as the National Advertising Manager at ACP Magazines, which is now part of the Bauer Media network.

 

At Vevo, Jones built the revenue base for the largest music video platform in the world, which attracts an average of 20 billion views every month. He was directly responsible for the global commercial strategy, launching and leading Vevo in 13 countries. Prior to this he was the Chief Digital Officer for Starcom MediaVest, responsible for the digital strategy of clients across the 17 countries that made up the EMEA region.

 

The news was confirmed at the fifth anniversary edition of Advertising Week Europe, which is taking place this week in London. Speakers include former US Vice President Al Gore, London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan, Google chief Matt Brittin, and England rugby coach Eddie Jones.
