Meerkats + St John Ambulance begin new phase of work together after building brand platform

St John Ambulance and Meerkats have cemented a new partnership after a series of strategic projects. St John Ambulance is one of Australia's oldest brands, with over 130 years' experience, and is the leading provider of first aid services, training and equipment.

Meerkats has been strategically driving a new brand platform and brand architecture, and recently helped launch the new direction at the organisation's annual conference held at the Perth Convention Centre. 

Gavin Bain, Meerkats Chief Executive Officer said, "We have really enjoyed working with St John Ambulance strategically over the last two years, and we're excited to be appointed formally as their communications partner to continue the great work. St John offer an incredible service to all West Australians and this work is something we're all proud to be part of."

Working recently on Restart A Heart Day (RAHD), Meerkats and St John designed a campaign around the internationally recognised day, which aims to raise awareness of cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillators (AEDs). The campaign was designed to encourage downloads of St John's First Responder app and to start the conversation around what to do and how to help in a cardiac arrest scenario, from cradle-to-grave target audiences. The integrated campaign consisted of digital, press, radio and onsite activations in the lead up to RAHD on October 16. The campaign generated a 25% increase in downloads across the state over the ten day period.

Jeff Healy, Executive Manager of Marketing and Brand at St John Ambulance said, "We have been working with Meerkats on the development of a long-term brand strategy for St John WA. With the brand strategy being recently endorsed by our Executive team, our thoughts have turned to implementing the strategy and when we reviewed our position, it made complete sense for us to consider working with Meerkats on the execution of our new strategy. We are excited to move into this new phase with Meerkats and look forward to bringing our new strategy to life". 

Healy also said, "I would also like to acknowledge the team at Gatecrasher who we have worked with over the last few years. I would like to thank them for the great work they have delivered for us across a diverse range of our business. We will transition our business to Meerkats over the next couple of months."

St John Ambulance is another addition to the growing national and local client list for Meerkats, who have added Thermomix, Hawaiian Group, BGC Contracting, Royal Flying Doctor Service, Foundation for the WA Museum, Jesters and scale-up internet provider Pentanet amongst others during 2017.
