New campaign for Silver Chain via Meerkats takes on important conversations around home care

In-home health and aged care provider Silver Chain has continued their strong run of work with Meerkats, with a new TV-led campaign launching during the Christmas period and into 2018. In what has traditionally been a tough time for families and the elderly, with loneliness and health factors often becoming serious issues, Silver Chain wanted to tackle the concerns of their customers and families head-on to encourage important conversations around home care. 


"The market for aged care continues to get more and more competitive," said Meerkats Creative Director Josh Edge. "But what we've seen in the market this year was a huge reluctance to talk about the real problems facing Australian families. Everything around aged care seems to be presented as a happy, benevolent unreality - and our research indicated that people in these stressful situations wanted to hear from a company who wasn't afraid to confront these personal challenges. We applaud Silver Chain for the brave work they continue to create every time they work with Meerkats." 
Silver Chain Customer Experience and Growth Manager, Social Care, Kate Paratore, said, "At Silver Chain, we're driven by the belief that people are better off at home as they get older. However, we've identified that there is a great deal of silence in the market regarding the triggers that prevent people from staying at home, and a perception that an older person may be safer in a nursing home. Our aspiration is to ensure our clients live with confidence and maintain their independence at home whilst staying active and connected to what matters to them. With the right support, our aim is to help older people, who may be struggling with the challenges that ageing presents (social isolation and loneliness, health issues or falls, incontinence and dementia) so they can continue to live a meaningful life. We believe this latest campaign shows how our unique combination of health care and aged care services can help keep them at home."

The campaign comprises film, outdoor, radio, press, digital and social and will run for the next 6 months.
