AWARD Awards reveals finalists in all categories
CB Exclusive – The finalists for the 39th AWARD Awards has been announced today across all categories.

By category, those agencies with the most finalists include:
• Craft in Advertising – Film: FINCH with 18 finalists followed by Revolver/Will O’Rourke and The Sweet Shop each with14 finalists. Then Goodoil, Photoplay and The Butchery each with four finalists followed by ARC EDIT and Alt.vfx Photoplay each with three finalists;
• Craft in Advertising – Print, Typography & Illustration: Cheil Worldwide, Hong Kong with seven finalists, followed by Host/Havas with three finalists and Amber China / Shanghai with two finalists;
• Craft in Advertising – Branded Entertainment & Content: Revolver/Will O’Rourke and Host/Havas each with two finalists;
• Craft in Advertising – Digital: CHE Proximity with five, followed by DDB Group New Zealand with three finalists, Cummins&Partners and Host/Havas each with two finalists;
• Digital: BWM Dentsu with nine finalists followed by CHE Proximity with six finalists. Clemenger BBDO Melbourne with five followed by Cummins&Partners and J. Walter Thompson each with four finalists. Then VML and DDB Group New Zealand each with three finalists;
• Radio: DDB Group New Zealand with six finalists followed by BMF and Marketforce each with four finalists. The Monkeys with three finalists followed by Bashful, Eardrum, Y&R Auckland and TBWA\Melbourne each with two finalists;
• Print: All agencies in this category with one finalist each;
• Direct Marketing: CHE Proximity with nine finalists followed by Clemenger BBDO Melbourne with five finalists, Host/Havas with three finalists. Then Cummins&Partners, DDB Group New Zealand, Ogilvy & Mather New Zealand, VML, and DDB Sydney each with two finalists;
• Design: Houston and Host/Havas each with three finalists followed by TBWA Santiago Mangada Puno and DDB Sydney each with two finalists;
• Poster & Outdoor: Clemenger BBDO Melbourne with two finalists followed by all other finalists with one each;
• Integrated Campaign: Clemenger BBDO Melbourne and Host/Havas each with three finalists;
• Innovation: DDB Group New Zealand and M&C Saatchi each with two finalists;
• Market Disruption & Product/Service Development: M&C Saatchi, DDB Sydney and Host/Havas each with two finalists;
• Creativity For Good: Host/Havas with three finalists followed by Clemenger BBDO Melbourne and The Royals each with two finalists;
• Promotion and Experiential: Colenso BBDO with three finalists followed by Bashful, DDB Sydney and DDB Group New Zealand each with two finalists;
• PR: Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, Host/Havas and BWM Dentsu each with three finalists followed by TBWA\Melbourne and TBWA\Sydney each with two finalists;

Fantastic work from the few large companies that can afford to enter. But in the end the finalists list is small and repetitive. There are more people than this out there doing great work, the AWARD awards is just the best work work from a selection of companies with big award budgets and we all know it.
@great job – companies like Host Havas and CHE Proximity have earned finalists for multiple clients in multiple sectors – Host Havas have picked up in craft categories too. It’s not the size of the agency, it’s the size of the idea. And if you believe in the idea, having the balls to back it and enter it in the categories you believe it deserves to win in.

Where is R/GA Sydney? Truly deserve a nomination. Sad to see the same agencies being nominated all the time. Awards should be given out regardless of the award budgets fornthese agencies.
CHE Proximity and Host Havas get nominated all the time? Didn’t one of them only come into existence a year or so ago?
A nomination for what? What work have they done that is eligible? Don’t say that Hilltop Hoods thing as that was the year before. Nominations don’t get handed out because the agency is “good” – they do if they enter something.
Q. Where is R/GA Sydney?
A. Ask their recently departed ECD. That might be why they have no awards and why he is looking for new opportunities.
