Australia's social media and digital marketing community will gain insights from leading industry voices at State of Social, the first conference for the growing network Social Media Perth (#SMPerth).

The conference, to be held at Perth's Optus Stadium 26 June, brings key leaders in the digital, social and marketing space together to debate trends across the sector. The event will examine motivators for consumers, focusing on three of the most hotly debated industry topics: Influence, Behaviour and Innovation.

The mastermind behind #SMPerth, and Managing Director of Coffey & Tea, Meg Coffey is excited to announce State of Social's first keynote speaker, TRIBE's Chief Revenue Officer, Nick Randall.
TRIBE is a leading marketplace for visual influencers, connecting them with global and national brands. It's a unique proposition that has seen thousands of creatives be able to work with household names for mutual benefit.

Coffey said having Randall as the first keynote speaker sets the tone for State of Social.

"I am so pleased with the calibre of speakers we can offer our audience, including Nick Randall from TRIBE - the company behind Australia's leading influencer marketing app," she says.
"Nick has more than 20 years' experience in marketing and media and has held leadership roles at Fairfax Media, Whooshkaa, Southern Cross Austereo and now TRIBE.

"He will front our Influence session which will be followed by a diverse selection of expert panel members."

Influence panellists to be named include savvy business women Barb de Corti, founder and CEO of ENJO Australia, Danielle Norrish, State Manager of the Communications Council, and Anna Franklyn, editor of popular lifestyle website Urban List Perth.

Nic Hayes from Media Stable will be the Influence session panel facilitator.

"Panellists will analyse the role of influence in the digital marketing landscape and where it sits in the marketing mix," Coffey said. "The combination of our keynote speaker and panellists who have daily experience in driving the market for influence will make for a compelling session."

The conference marks the fifth birthday of #SMPerth, which has gone from strength to strength since 2013, building a strong network of more than 2,000 likeminded social media marketing enthusiasts.

Coffey said the State of Social conference will be an opportunity for Perth and Australia's thriving digital and social community to engage with industry peers, including entrepreneurs, consultants and businesses who use and love social media.

It affirms Perth's place on the map as a growing hub for digital and marketing innovation.
Sydney-based Randall recognises the importance of a social and digital marketing conference hosted in Perth.

"There's so much innovative work coming out of Perth, a known marketing and advertising hub, yet it often gets overlooked for events, this is why State of Social is so important," Randall says.
"It's the first of its kind in Perth, and after attending this conference marketers will have enough social breadth and depth to action compelling social strategies."

Randall also comments on the rise of influencer marketing in 2018.

"In 2018's current technological climate, influencer marketing is becoming a necessity for any marketing strategy. With authentic advocacy at its core, this is really the first time in history a brand's own customers are able to generate creative-agency quality imagery at scale, for a fraction of the cost.

"It's all about real people, and real recommendations - who better to create content customers love than the customers themselves?"

Coffey said people need to do their research when looking to engage an influencer marketing agency.

"Using a reputable company like TRIBE for influencer marketing ensures you get qualified results for your campaign. There's a great level of transparency, giving you control of the process, and reassurance that you're working with credible influencers suitable for your target market. Those looking to work with an influencer marketing agency need to shop around to ensure they're using the right agency to achieve the best results."

#SMPerth will be releasing its keynote speakers and panellists for State of Social over the coming months for each session. Behaviour session speakers will be announced at the end of this month.
