hit92.9 Content Director, Amanda Lee, has been named a finalist in the Mentor category of the 2018 B&T Women in Media Awards, which drew over 250 nominations.

"I'm honoured to be recognised amongst so many accomplished and inspirational women in media, as well as the male champions of change," she said.

Lee comes from an extensive radio background and has been part of the Hit Network for six years, taking up her current position as hit92.9 Content Director in December, 2015.

Within that time, she farewelled a breakfast show, launched Heidi, Xavier & Ryan, and has developed a number of team members, many of whom have been young, career driven, females who look to Lee as a mentor.
Placing high importance on job satisfaction and opportunity for growth is what has led to her own impressive career within the media industry, but is also what leads the up-and-comers to look to her for guidance.

"Sharing knowledge is power, and there is nothing more rewarding for me than to develop young people in the media, and see them grow professionally and personally, to go on and do extraordinary things in their careers."

The Women in Media Awards will take place in Sydney on August 17.
