Rare delivers visual identity and brand strategy for Telstra Perth Fashion Festival's 20th year

The Telstra Perth Fashion Festival (TPFF) is one of Australia's premier fashion events.

This year the festival celebrates its 20th year and engaged Rare to develop the theme and visual identity for the 2018 event.

"The 'Past, Present and Future' theme acknowledges the festival's past achievements, celebrates where it is today and provides a glimpse of what's to come in the future,"  Rare director of design, Enrico Bettesworth said. 
"Fashion is the fabric that links time, culture and the arts together, and the stylised 20th anniversary graphic reflects that," Bettesworth added. "We developed a suite of abstract lens graphics inspired by the cut-outs of fabrics and pattern-making, and used the shapes to house imagery and colour across printed assets, outdoor and digital."

Festival director Mariella Harvey-Hanrahan said working with Rare in 2018 has been an incredible journey.

"They're a fully integrated agency and went above and beyond what we originally anticipated. Working with the dynamic team at Rare empowered us to truly bring our brand to life, and communicate and engage with our various audiences, whilst maintaining our brand integrity."

Rare was also engaged to provide strategic recommendations around the role of the TPFF brand beyond the Festival program, specifically with a view to unlocking a range of new commercial and partner opportunities focused around lifestyle and branded content.
