The Brand Agency creates animated identity system for this year's DIA WA Awards

DIA_Awards4_BLOG.jpgFor over 60 years, the Design Institute of Australia has been recognised as a leading advocate of design. Its annual awards program, now in its sixteenth year, provides the opportunity to promote the important role design plays across three key disciplines - interior spaces, product design and visual communication.

Last year, the Institute's WA chapter launched their awards program around the design principle of breaking convention, confronting the status quo under the mantra, 'break something to make something'.

DIA WA President, Gavin Campbell, stated that "by working with The Brand Agency, we were able to partner with an agency that understood the multidisciplinary approach to design that the DIA helps foster. In this year's awards, we didn't just want to break something, but rather encourage making something new. Something bold; something inspiring; something ambitious, but most importantly, something award-winning".

"From a simple shape, idea, or thought, we wanted to celebrate the potential design can have," said The Brand Agency's Head of Design, Dan Agostino.

"We wanted to highlight design's ability to create impact in our everyday lives by simply using colour, shape and form. By creating a series of animated brand expressions, we were able to make something beautiful and functional, thought provoking and inspiring, ambitious and memorable. By utilising the three basic shapes within the DIA logo, we've created a bold and playful brand."
