Final Perth Radio Survey for 2018 released: mix94.5 finishes the year on top

Mix94.5 has bounced back to finish the year as Perth's #1 station in the eighth and final GfK Metro Radio Survey for 2018, released today.

Mix 94.5 took top spot with a P10+ share of 14.8%, 1.1% ahead of Nova 93.7 on 13.7%. It is Mix 94.5's fifth survey win of the year. It has been a tight battle between the two stations this year; mix94.5 was #1 in Surveys 1, 2, 3, 6 and 8, while nova 93.7 was #1 in Surveys 4, 5 and 7.

Mix 94.5's survey was punctuated with a healthy 4.9% gain in its core demo of P40-54.
hit92.9 is a clear #3 and finished the year on a good note with a 0.6% rise to 11.0%.

96FM reclaimed the #4 position with a 1.0% rise to 8.6%, while 6PR eased back to 7.4%. 

6IX recorded a slight P10+ gain of +0.1% to 5.9%. The station also recorded another big gain  in P55-64, up 4.3% to 18.2% and holds the #2 spot in that demo behind Mix 94.5.

Nova 93.7's Nathan, Nat & Shaun won Breakfast again with14.9%, a slight drop of -0.2% from S7.

Mix94.5's Clairsy, Matt & Kymba gained 0.7% to 13.3%.

6PR's Steve Mills and Basil Zempilas, held the #3 position despite a drop of -0.6% to a 10.4% share.

Hit92.9's Heidi, Xavier & Ryan dropped -0.4% to 19.8% and the #4 position.

96FM's Paul & Lise went up 1.1% to 7.7%, while 6IX's Tim Gossage finished his stint with the station on 4.7%.

Nathan, Nat & Shaun recorded the biggest Cumulative Audience (361,000) followed by Heidi, Xavier & Ryan (290,000) and Clairsy, Matt & Kymba (268,000).

Nova recorded the biggest P10+ Cumulative Audience with 588,000 listeners, while mix94.5 recorded the second-biggest with 530,000 followed by mix94.5 with 546,000 and hit92.9 had 531,000 giving Southern Cross Austereo a Cumulative Audience well over 1,000,000.

Mix94.5 edged ahead of Nova in Average Audience P10+, recording 34,000 to Nova 93.7's 31,000.

Amongst commercial DAB+ digital stations, Nova Entertainment's SmoothFM led the way with a Cume of 35,000, with Coles Radio roaring into the #2 position with 37,000 - a rise of 14,000 from S7.
