Scoring points
Every award entered into the database is allocated points but morepoints are allocated to a Gold at Cannes than to a Gold at the CreativeCircle, for instance. This is because there are four tiers of awardsshows.
Tier 1 is the global shows such as Cannes or (for DM) The Caples.
Tier 2 is for semi-global shows such as D&AD or The One Show.
Tier 3 is for regional shows, which would include FIAP, Golden Drum and EPICA, for instance.
Tier 4 comprises local shows – the BIG Awards in the UK, Golden Hammerin Latvia, les Cubes for direct marketing in France, and so on.

no show mojo
Jay & Andy are f’ing kicking it!
Todd should give them a pay rise before they move on again!
Talking of campaigns, does anyone know who did the current Tourism Queensland “Best job in the world” campaign?
Henri’s Hands.
What a brilliant campaign for a company that is now in liquidation.
Of course, the agency/creatives can’t be held responsible for the failure of that business.
But lauding the campaign as one of the best of the year in light of the company’s demise embarrasses our industry.
It shows that what we do and, more importantly, what we admire has absolutely no relationship to a company’s performance.
At the very least, the campaign was strategically flawed.
Clearly, Herringbone needed to be running 20% Off ads and not intellectual, long-form, black-and-white brand ads.

there seems to be more award shows and rankings then there are advertising agencies, I’d like to hear move about Creative Directors doing good work and less about which Jury they’re sitting on
mojo and leo’s will merge before the end of june, should be intersting.
yeah but if herringbone wanted to run 20% off ads, they would’ve had to have paid actual money for them.

Get a job in insolvency, you twat.
2008 awards and award ranking are based mostly on 2007 work
because of the way the award cycle works. Good thing to keep in mind.
That would have nothing to do with Jay and Andy. It’s for work done before they joined. Everyone credited would have left by now.
Run me through how M&C get two bites at the cherry in this list. Surely there’s some severe double up there. It barks of woofiness.
it’s funny to look at the global list. there are no australian or nz agencies in the top 20. it is filled with lots of dubious scam shops like the German agencies.
Having worked in Germany, they are the kings of scams or “gold ideas” as they call them. If you think it is bad in oz, nz or asia, they are nothingnext to these guys. they set a month aside to do gold ideas for the award season.
But if you take print out of the equation and look at only the TV and digital lists all the scam shops tend to drop off the list. Places like DDB berlin, Scholtz and friends, Ogilvy Singapore.
aah, stats, maybe i should worked in finance…
