The tournament will be held over three consecutive Thursday evenings starting Thursday May 19, and will see agency creatives battle it out to be crowned Advertising’s Ping-Pong Champions.

They’ve since made a “making of” video for the ad with the creative team from M&C explaining what its all about.

The event will begin with staggered heats spread over the first two evenings – with the quarters, semis and finals held on the final night. The prizes are hefty, including $1,500 for first place, $600 for second and $300 for third, plus a stack of extra Noise-related items and spot prizes for best-dressed. The winners will also take away the coveted Ping Pong trophy.

“Ping-Pong has long been my favorite indoor game and I’m not alone,’ says Dan Higson, Noise International’s executive producer. “It’s very much the game of the moment with just about every TV show featuring a ping-pong scene. Susan Sarandon is even making a reality show following the growing cult of ping-pong enthusiasts (which we hope to feature in, of course). The response to the comp has been really great so far, so we expect most agencies will be entering.”

It had a great response. The Campaign Brief logo was on the insert as media partner.

“Also – we had a new sponsor come on board on Thursday – Tooheys Extra Dry.

“We had lots of entries on Friday from agencies including: US, Three Drunk Monkeys, SapientNitro, DDB, M&C Saatchi, JWT, 12:20, Holler, MercerBell, Reborn and Bashful to name a few. I will keep you updated.

“Hope you like the DM. It all fits together really well. M&C designed and built the mini table / box and doobahlah created the iapp with sound from Noise.”
