The app, along with a new website developed by George Patterson Y&R Digital, Melbourne, is part of a new strategy to engage race goers and enhance their visit to the three day BMW Caulfield Spring Racing Carnival, appealing to both hardcore race goers and fashionistas.

On course promotions, as well as Facebook and Twitter feeds will be used to drive downloads.

The app includes the latest race results from the track, a daily planner focusing on entertainment and fashion, maps, transport tips, and a guide for beginners.  It also includes a digital form guide so punters can give the bookies a run for their money.

Melbourne Racing Club Brand Marketing Manager Mike Leake said “The team at GPY&R has worked very closely with the Melbourne Racing Club to produce a digital strategy which has delivered a great new website and an industry leading mobile app. Our customers want the latest racing news and to be kept up to date with what is happening on course, and the new platform that GPYR built now makes that possible from your phone”.
