Host dropped as Vodafone calls Ogilvy

CB Exclusive – CB can reveal that Ogilvy Sydney has landed the giant Vodafone brand and DM business, which has been at Host since early 2010 (with DM added in May last year).
The news is yet to be announced officially, so no doubt more on this soon…
The move comes four days after Vodafone in New Zealand moved its $20m business from Colenso BBDO, to DraftFCB.

I worked on Vodafone. Wouldn’t wish them on my worst enemy. Energy sucking maggots.
Hopefully not too many people lose their jobs over this.

If Vodafone called Ogilvy whose service did they use? I hear theirs rarely stays connected for long.

A last ditch attempt to blame someone else for network failures? With clients deserting Vodafail like rats from a sinking ship I guess this is one last attempt to make a go of it before the axe falls…
That came out of nowhere. It’s a blessing in disguise for Host and all those working on that account. Unfortunately, it will lead to redundancies, but I’m sure all those good people will move on to remarkable things, having survived the energy sapping torrent that is Vodafone.
Good luck Ogilvy, you’ll need it – especially with a sales guy in charge of marketing now too. Yikes.
This is probably one of the most uncreative accounts in Australia and its right at home at Ogilvy

Telstra good attempt at trying to appear clever but your attention to detail has betrayed you.
One loser company goes to another. By all reports, Ogilvy is the worst place to work on the planet. Vodafone is the worst Telco on the planet. I’m sure they’ll skip merrily down the toilet together.
Well done Host. After 2 years of crap I dumped Vodafone recently too.
