Leahy is currently creative and commercial executive at Zodiak Active, part of the UK-based global Zodiak Media Group, which specialises in the creation, development and production of digital and branded content across all media platforms.

Justin Ricketts, managing director of Ensemble Australia, said Leahy’s appointment would bring clients advanced knowhow in the creation and distribution of branded content, especially in the digital and IPTV space.

Says Ricketts: “Charlie’s experience in the UK increases our capabilities in this area. Branded content is growing rapidly in Australia as clients are increasingly attracted to the idea of embedding their brand into programming, or creating their own programming and media environments for their brands to better engage consumers.”

Leahy has helped create Renault.tv – Renault’s IPTV channel; Unlimited – the first ever entertainment channel on Facebook; the Broadcast award winning digital support for BBC’s Being Human; the Travel Marketing award nominated 30 Days In Oz for Tourism Australia and various brand-funded TV shows including Carpool for Toyota and Skillicious for Britvic.

Ricketts said Ensemble’s business in sponsorships, activations and brand inspired content had grown from a team of two to now employing 20 full-time staff, with offices in Sydney and Melbourne.

The agency’s clients include Microsoft, Unilever, Hyundai, Coles, The Federal Government and YUM Restaurants.
