Hawkins has been freelancing since September 2011 when he left Tongue Sydney after 18 months as creative director. In the past six months he’s also freelanced at digital agency WiTH Collective and Publicis Mojo Sydney.

Prior to that he spent eight years at BMF where he launched and ran BMF Design, before moving into an art director role. Here he worked on a number of campaigns recognised at Cannes, One Show Entertainment, AWARD, ADMA, Echo, Caples and the London Internationals, including ‘6 Beers of Separation’ and ‘Harvested – The Trials’ for Tooheys Extra Dry.

Clemenger BBDO Sydney ECD Paul Nagy says it’s fantastic to have Hawkins on board: “The fact someone as talented as Luke wanted to join us after freelancing here for a while was particularly gratifying for me,” he says. “We even made fun of his ridiculous shoulders and it didn’t put him off. Along with James Theoplane, our digital creative director, this gives us some serious digital grunt up front and the work they’re doing together is already impressive.”

Hawkins adds that he’s thrilled to be joining the team at Clemenger BBDO Sydney: “There’s a great culture and sense of camaraderie. This, matched with the agency’s big creative ambitions, makes it a really exciting place to be. I can’t wait to get stuck in.”
