the prjects.jpgOn the day of their MasterChef Dining pop-up bar and restaurant being launched in the Sydney CBD, creative agency the projects* has  announced an international expansion of their operation with the opening of an LA office.

Given the acclaim that the partners in the agency have received for their work internationally, overseas expansion was a natural progression for the team. Event specialist Jack Bedwani has produced fashion shows in Sydney, Singapore, Dubai and the US while publishing supremo Carrie Barker has managed large-scale media companies on both sides of the globe. Simon Philby has Ad agency and media experience in Asia and UK.

Continuing to make a splash in the Australian market with their innovative experiential campaigns for established and emerging brands, the projects* will now bring their creative services to brands in the northern hemisphere. Headed up by partner Nicholas Ingate, whose experience includes working with brands including Rolling Stone Magazine, The Ace Hotel, Westfield in the USA and Vodafone, Audi, Virgin Blue, Tia Maria, ABSOLUT in Australia, the office has already begun servicing a client roster that includes Subway and Suboo.

Says Ingate: “the projects* have extensive opportunities in the US as we bring a fresh global view on trend forecasting and delivering cut through to our clients. Off the back of providing compelling brand experiences for Subway and Westfield theprojects* have been requested to pitch creative treatments for some of the worlds biggest brands in AT&T, Intel, Walmart, Kia and Paramount. We are excited about growing the business and looking to add to our client roster.”

Just three years old, the projects* was founded by Bedwani and marketing specialist Simon Philby who were joined a year later by Barker. The agency’s Sydney office has already expanded to a staff of 12.

Says Barker: “We’re absolutely thrilled to open a second office to continue to showcase the work of the projects* to an international audience. Opening the LA branch has enabled us to demonstrate to the US market, often considered to be the world leader in experiential marketing, that the work of Australian creatives is cutting edge.”

The projects* have received recognition for creating world first projects including the Masterchef Dining pop-up bar and restaurant that opens today and Westfield Style Stream; the first consumer generated live-stream runway show, in partnership with uber stylist Rachel Zoe.

The agency has also conceived engaging brand activations such as the Stoneleigh (now Montanla) Wine lounge – a shipping container transformed into a modular wine lounge that has travelled the country – and a 70m x 8m 3D digital projection mapping video to launch the Audi A6.
