Aegis Media expands social media offering with launch of new strategic unit The Social Hatch
Aegis Media has launched a dedicated social media unit, The Social Hatch, creating a central strategic hub that brings together the group’s extensive social media capabilities.
Kristen Boschma (left) has been appointed general manager of The Social Hatch, which aims to help simplify social media for clients of all agencies within Aegis Media and help these clients leverage social media to deliver business growth.
The Social Hatch will act in two core capacities, consulting to Aegis Media businesses on their social media clients and campaigns when required as well as seeking to attract new clients.
Says Boschma: “The Social Hatch is here to help clients answer all the common challenges associated with social media – how to leverage other marketing activities, how to effectively use social channels and how to assess the return on investment their social media activity is actually delivering.
“Within Aegis Media we have numerous agencies servicing our client’s social media needs. They’ll continue to do so; the difference is that we now have in place a central unit that can provide strategic input for clients across our businesses when required and bring together all our knowledge and expertise in the social media field.
“Some of our clients have told us that they want to embrace social media but at times it seems difficult to navigate, hard to resource, challenging to get cut-through or downright scary. The Social Hatch is about having it all; growth without compromise.”
Boschma has been a senior marketer and communicator for more than two decades and has held senior roles at The Age, ANZ, Baker Heart Research Institute, Veda Advantage and Telstra. She was head of online communications and social media at Telstra and prior to her appointment at The Social Hatch, Boschma was head of digital and social media for Aegis-owned PR agency Haystac.
Over 40 Aegis Media staff members consult on social media services across Australia and will work closely with Boschma and The Social Hatch team.
