Says Kendall: “I have had an incredible time at News, and have loved leading the sales operation but I feel at this stage it’s time to move on to a new challenge.

“What I am most proud of from my time at News are the deep relationships I have built with customers and colleagues alike. Being able to combine the knowledge of our clients’ business requirements with the assets of News to create effective advertising solutions has been a very rewarding part of the role. Equally rewarding has been the opportunity to work with so many talented people, who I will sorely miss.”

Says Williams: “Few people have had as rich an experience in working at News as Tony. He has held senior Australian positions, worked in New York, led our magazine division at its inception and over recent years has been a splendidly energetic leader of all ad sales operations across News Limited. In his period with the company Tony has built an enviable body of relationships with the broadest range of agencies and clients.

“Tony has brought together all the extraordinary assets of News for our customers in a more effective fashion. These assets include: wide reach in digital and print; a leadership position in key categories and real data and consumer insights; all applied with a focus on solutions which enable our customers to achieve their sales and marketing objectives better than ever before.

“I wish Tony the very best for the next stage of his career. He will be missed and goes with oceans of goodwill from his colleagues.”

News Limited will announce Mr Kendall’s replacement in due course.
