Back alley dealings.jpgBrisbane creative agencies JSA and Smoke Creative have collaborated on an interactive online video experience for the festive season which paints an irreverent vision of Christmas featuring seedy hacker elves, contraband candy and shady backstreet deals.

The website www.badbadchristmas.com, works on the premise that the user has been placed on Santa’s Naughty List and is seeking a way to remove themselves from it. Using Facebook Connect, the user is invited to substitute a friend in their place, setting in action a personalised video piece which integrates the users’ selected Facebook friends.

Seedy the Elf.jpgDarren Walls, head of digital at JSA Creative said the concept was developed out of a desire to take adults back to their childhood while still using an adult frame of reference.

Says Walls: “Everyone remembers the fear of being on Santa’s naughty list as a child and getting nothing on Christmas morning. We wanted to draw on the nostalgia of that but also flip it on its head The naughty dossier.jpgby creating an alternative, tongue-in-cheek underworld where elves are common crims and Santa is more Tony Soprano than Saint Nick.”

Smoke Creative scripted, filmed and produced the two minute video whilst Digital agency JSA Creative were responsible for the digital execution and Facebook integration.
