CB Exclusive: DDB Sydney has today announced the promotion of Jen Speirs to creative director as well as the hire of James Sexton (right) and Harry Towle (left) as a creative team.

Speirs has been with DDB since 2009 delivering award-winning campaigns for a number of clients including Telstra, Arnotts and Tourism Australia.

Sexton and Towle have been appointed as junior copywriter and junior art director respectively after impressing executive creative director, Dylan Harrison, following their transition from DDB Sydney’s business management team to the Launchpad program a mere five weeks ago.

Says Harrison: “New interns try hard to impress the creative directors when they’re given the chance, in the hope of a job. Two suits who’ve turned their back on the security of a regular income to try their hand as creatives? That’s a different story. Not only do they have to prove suits can be creative to the department, they have to prove they made the right decision to the whole agency! Harry and James over delivered like men possessed. I had no choice to make, they’d earned their position as DDB creatives, three weeks before their internship was up.

“Jen has been a consistent performer in the DDB Sydney creative team since joining the business, delivering outstanding creative work every time. Her promotion is thoroughly deserved and I look forward to continuing to work with her closely.”

Speirs will primarily work across Arnott’s and Johnson & Johnson while Sexton and Towle will work on briefs for DDB clients such as McDonald’s, Telstra and Volkswagen.
