LA-based production house Furlined signs Aussie director Nick Ball for U.S. representation
Australian director Nick Ball (left), who is represented in Australasia by Finch, has joined Los Angeles-based commercial production house Furlined for representation across USA.
Ball is known for his artful comedy in work for clients such as Kia, Wrigley’s, Bonds, Sky Television and the Melbourne International Film Festival.
Says Ball: “There’s humor in everything. But it’s in the way you establish the context that delivers the laughs. My work is about displacement. I’m always looking for the unexpected. I’m searching for an irreverent tone, but irreverence with a reason; not just for the sake of it.”
Ball’s work has been recognized at many award shows, including D&AD, ONE Show and Cannes.
Says Diane McArter, president of Furlined: “Nick brings a unique voice of comedy to Furlined – comedy that, like art, opens our eyes to human truths.”
Ball is represented by Furlined in the U.S. and Finch in Australia.

so nice to see an announcement of an australian director being picked up on the roster of an overseas production company, instead of an australia company reping an american or some other country director here in australia.
