Syd Air.jpgDigital agency AD2ONE has formed an advertising partnership with Sydney Airport, representing its website to Australia’s brands and media buyers.

The website attracts a large volume of traffic – 2 million-plus page impressions per month to view the latest arrivals and departures, transport, shopping, maps and pre-flight information.

The Sydney Airport website offers a range of standard placements, along with bespoke opportunities including sponsorships of apps, EDM and mobile site placement. There is a Sydney Airport application offering retailers the opportunity to reach travellers hours before they fly. The airport also has a subscriber base more than 300,000 people (which grows every day), who have opted in to access the airport’s free Wi-Fi service.

AD2ONE’s commercial director Kate Tilden, says she is pleased to have Sydney Airport on board.

Says Tilden: “We have a diverse collection of travel-oriented websites, representing different stages in the planning cycle. The airport’s website helps us complement those other properties with an opportunity to reach genuine travellers at or close to their time of departure. It’s a very powerful vehicle.”

Tilden says the opportunity is not restricted to travel advertisers. Two thirds of passengers at Sydney Airport are on domestic routes, many on business trips.

Says Tilden: “This is a crucial tool for reaching a captive audience of busy executives with disposable incomes. The airport is one of the few places where they have to stop for half an hour or so.”
