The campaign aimed to get the attention of New York-based Aussie expat, David Droga. To date, the campaign website has had over 15,000 hits from 72 countries.

Within three days, Droga was following them on Twitter. Within five days, he emailed them. And two weeks later, they got to speak to the advertising great for two hours.

Droga described Come Home Droga as ‘original’ and ‘relentless’. He said Droga5 New York receives over 300 student folios a day, and the internship waiting list is six months long. Come Home Droga managed to cut through the creative clutter and the team became the first students he’d contacted in over 10 years.

Come Home Droga received praise and support from around the world, helped the four graduates secure full-time jobs within the industry, and is now nominated for a prestigious D&AD Yellow Pencil. The results will be announced at the D&AD Student Awards Ceremony in London on July 4.

Shannon Crowe and Jackson Harper are now at Grey, Melbourne, Luke Falkland-Brown is at Visual Jazz Isobar, Melbourne and Millicent Malcolm is at JWT, Melbourne.
