‘Take the golf’ …. ‘bought a Jeep’
Me like. Unlike the car ads on TV at the moment that make me want to stick rusty nails through my eyelids, at least this one is nicely directed and written.
lame
They just seem to get it right. Well done guys. I want one.
Darryl Kerrigan: Ay Steve, can you move the Camira? I need to get the Torana out to get to the Commodore.
Steve Kerrigan: Sure thing Dad, but I’ll have to get the keys to the Cortina if I’m gunna move that Camira.
Darryl Kerrigan: Alright mate, just watch the boat
Same first anonymous comment as on another ad site. You astroturfing hatred or what?
Jeep/VW
Bad ad/Good ad
no comparison.
I used to look forward to watching VW ads …
You can tell the creative team has changed. The idea and even the production values have changed. Ouch.
like a golf 2.0
It’s not the worst idea ever, but Oh Dear has it right. The writing, the execution and the production values are horrible.
Take the opening vignette for instance. I mean really, of course a pregnant woman on her way to the hospital is going to want to travel in a car as opposed to her husband’s work ute, and that means any car with a more comfortable seat than the truck, so the whole idea of choosing the VW over another vehicle is completely lost and the idea blown.
And why is the woman stipulating the VW in the divorce settlement German? It just makes it seem as if her choice is about some strange national loyalty instead of a quality argument.
That’s where it starts, and with the worst looking film we’ve seen in a car ad in some time, it just gets worse.
Too bad. ’cause it could have been a funny, good looking ad with an insight, but not in the hands of this team. Is that why there are no agency or production credits?
Bought a jeep, take the golf, shove this ripoff.
IT’S GOLD ! The whole town loves it , and misses it . Along with the RHONDA IS MINE ad A class piece.
