Says Stephen Collins, Honda Australia director: “The augmented reality app and amazing competition are a fun, interactive way to celebrate one of Honda’s biggest partnerships this year.”

The highly anticipated global premiere of King Kong takes place tomorrow night, Saturday 15 June at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne and is also the premiere of Honda’s King Kong augmented reality app.

Designed for both Apple and Android platforms, the app provides users with an exclusive augmented reality experience of the star attraction, King Kong and allows users to take a look around the New York skyline and watch as King Kong climbs a building and stares into the user’s eyes. Kong’s watchful eye follows the user while his unmistakable roar resounds.

The app is also the gateway to one of Honda’s biggest-ever competitions; the chance to win a trip to the iconic city featured in King Kong – New York.

The  $30,000 prize package includes two business class flights to New York with limousine transfers, a seven-night stay at the famous Standard Hotel, a VIP Empire State Building experience including a helicopter ride around Manhattan, two tickets to a Broadway show, dinner at Jean-Georges and $2,000 spending money.

The competition will be drawn at 12pm midday on 18th April 2014.

The activation marker for the app will soon appear in the foyer of the Regent Theatre. The marker can be found at http://honda.com.au/kingkongapp.
