MeetBudCaddell.jpgJulian Cole, co-founder and head of comms planning at BBH, Liane Siebenhaar, ex-Jung von Matt strategist, rOobin Golestan, ex-head of planning at DMG China have collaborated to launch The Planning Salon platform.

The Planning Salon aims to climb inside the brains of the world’s smartest planners for half an hour and share their great thinking with the global planning community.

On July 13th head of invention at Deutsch LA, Bud Caddell (left) will be joining The Planning Salon to talk about ‘Bringing your own seat to the management table’. Caddell will talk about creating a new senior role and surviving change within an agency.

Says Cole: “Blogs really used to be your one stop shop for great thinking on Planning between 2005 – 2010. Since then blogs on planning have kind of died which was a massive shame as you now have all these amazing thinkers still having great thoughts but no one is sharing anymore.”

Says Siebenhaar, currently participating in Start-up Chile, an accelerator program for entrepreneurs: “With The Planning Salon we want to spread great thinking. We want to give everyone the chance to meet our industry’s greatest personalities, ask questions and learn from them, one on one.”

Says Golestan, who now works in a strategic function for Volkswagen Group China: “The sessions are hosted at Google Hangout. The first 15 minutes is held as an interview, the second half is an open Q&A. People can take part in the hangout, they can live stream the session or watch it later on our website.”

The Planning Salon is gathering a great library of short talks with some of the brightest thinkers in the planning world. So far they have had head of strategy at W+K Asia, Rob Campbell, VP of brand strategy at Big Spaceship, Mark Pollard and founder of the Planning Survey, Heather LeFevre.
