FDMx.jpgIn a new seasonal campaign via Marlin Communications, UNICEF Australia is encouraging Australians to give their dads the super power of good health, or play, on Father’s Day and make a difference to the lives of children worldwide.

On receiving a UNICEF Inspired Gift for Father’s Day, dad will become an instant superhero, joining the fight to help deliver a polio-free world.

FatherFor $35 Super Dad can wield his super power to immunise 200 children against the debilitating impact of the polio virus.

Another option is for Aussies to make their dad a superhero on and off the footy field and spend $66 to kick a dozen durable leather footballs to children who will benefit from the health and social gains that sport offers.

When people buy an inspired gift for their dads, he will receive in his mailbox or inbox on Father’s Day a personalised card detailing the life-changing gift to children that has been bought for him.

Says Jonathan Dawson, direct marketing manager of UNICEF Australia: “UNICEF exists to help promote and protect the rights of children, and our range of life-changing, often life-saving Inspired Gifts allows us to use attention grabbing creative in a colourful, light-hearted manner, whilst ensuring that we don’t make light of the serious issues that these items help Fatherto tackle.”

Says Tim O’Connor, communications and advocacy director of UNICEF Australia: “Remember when you were a child and you thought your dad was literally a superhero? We wanted to recapture this essence in our creative for Father’s Day. The fact is this isn’t even an imaginary super power that you’re giving your dad. Instead it’s a real, Batman meets Ironman lifesaving gift. With polio on the HFDcard.jpgHFDC2.jpgbrink of eradication your dad’s gift of immunisation may truly be the vaccine that ends polio once and for all.”

The campaign is being supported by online display advertising, paid search, eDMs, donated space from publications including mX, AFL Record and The Sunday Telegraph, PR and across UNICEF’s owned-media channels.

The gifts are available at www.unicef.org.au/FathersDay.
