Ogilvy Melbourne creative group head Fergus Donaldson, who worked on the BMW, Mini and BP accounts, has left the agency after a five year stint.
The reason for his departure is unclear and comes six months after the arrival of national chief creative officer Steve Back, who transferred from Ogilvy Singapore in February this year.
Prior to Ogilvy, Donaldson was a senior writer at JWT Melbourne for over a decade, working on Ford, Kraft, Shell, South Melbourne Market, We Are What We Do – “Change the World 9-5”, Nestle, Herald & Weekly Times, Black Flys and Sustainability Victoria.

That’s a big loss. Big for the agency and bigger for the client. Very respected by both.
Sorry to hear this news. Always loved the BMW and particularly Mini campaigns. Some great tactical ads over the past few years – particularly loved the Royal baby ads!

Always up for a long friday lunch or an inspirational trip to the movies, his passion to motivate people was sure to get the best out of everyone he worked with. Not to mention near-perfect 50:50 weight distribution. Plus an explosive all new 2.0 litre Twin-Scroll Turbo engine that delivers 160kW of raw power and 310Nm of torque.
