GPY&R Melbourne creative Alex Wadelton literally pulling his hair out for kid’s cancer charity
We all know advertising can be a tough business. But it’s nowhere near as tough as being a kid with cancer.
So, that’s why GPY&R Melbourne senior copywriter Alex Wadelton has embarked on a unique journey, by plucking 1 hair for every dollar donated to kid’s cancer charity Camp Quality in the month of October.
So far he has plucked 4023 hairs for the $4023 donated.
Every time someone donates, he films a video of the hair being pulled out by his trusty pair of tweezers and sends it back to the donor. He’s filmed over 70 of these wince-inducing videos already.
So, if you’ve got a spare few bucks, or a sadistic streak, or both, head to onebuckonepluck.com and donate to put Alex in pain so kids don’t have to be.
Camp Quality is celebrating 30 years of helping create a better life for every child living with cancer in Australia. To learn more, go to campquality.org.au

Great idea, brilliant work!
By the way, plucking a hair destroys the root and it never grows back.
