Resin wins ‘Best New App 2013’ at Australian Mobile Awards for debut title Two Left Feet

twoleftfeet.jpgLast night at The Beresford Hotel, Surry Hills, Resin won ‘Best New App 2013’ at the Australian Mobile Awards for its debut title, Two Left Feet.

The app was lauded for its innovation and also took out the award in the Children and Early Childhood category.

Says Lincoln Wogan of Resin: “This is humbling for Two Left Feet, our debut title to be acknowledged as the best amongst a field of apps with significant profile.”

Two Left Feet, released in August 2013 is off to a successful start, in addition to the two Mobi’s has achieved a number one ranking on the Australian App Store in the iPad Book category was featured in Apple’s New and Noteworthy and is currently featured as the “Top Rated Aussie App” on the App Store. Two Left Feet also received an editors choice award from Children’s Technology Review and the platform that Resin developed for Two Left Feet, “boooKAPP – The modern day pop up book” was added to the best new publishing start ups for the Frankfurt Book Fair.

The app translates the children’s story book, Two Left Feet to 3D animation and uses augmented reality to create a true 3D experience for its users. Originally written by UK author Adam Stower in 2004 and published by Bloomsbury Publishing, Resin obtained the rights to the book and developed the idea for the app and a new type of book app.

The studio is actively pursuing other opportunities to translate other best sellers into boooKAPP’s. They also announced a new app in development that uses aspects of the technology platform. The game, Barkley is described as “The slightly bent pet sim inspired by pop culture,  a warped sense of humour and the need to mod.” A teaser website with game and social media was launched a few days ago.
