ARIA-2013-550x337.jpgDroga5 Sydney and the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) have today announced a partnership that will see Aussie artists and fans sharing their love for local music in a new fashion in the lead up to the 2013 ARIA Awards.

The United By Music campaign showcases the role that Aussie music plays around the world and engages music fans like never before, unified through the hashtags #unitedbymusic and #ARIAs.

Elements of the campaign are already being revealed in the lead-up to the awards in Sydney on December 1, and much of the conversation will be driven organically by music lovers and Aussie artists themselves.

Anticipation for the awards has been building following the announcement of nominations on October 15 and ARIA chief executive Dan Rosen said working with Droga5 had opened up an array of new ways for Aussie artists to engage with fans both in Australia and overseas.

Says Rosen: “We know Australians love our home-grown artists and the ARIA Awards are the ultimate celebration of our incredible musical talent. With Droga5 we have a partner who will help us show just how music unites us in a way that every music fan will be able to join in.”

Sudeep Gohil, chief executive of Droga5 Sydney, ex-DJ and music aficionado, said that a potent mix of social media, popular culture and the added ingredient of something every Australian music fan has stashed away will help re-engage people with the awards.

Says Gohil: “Our new partnership with WME has opened up some enormous opportunities to promote Australian music to Australians in a way that has never been seen before and which taps into the level of respect Australian artists enjoy overseas.”
