1380868483092[1].jpgMelbourne creative studio Yoke is moving. The distance may not be great – just the next block over in fact – but the new purpose designed space at 42 Cambridge St represents a big step up in both scale and scope.

The former stockroom of the Australian Galleries, the century-old period 3-storey warehouse underwent ten months of extensive renovations at the hands of leading building and interior and design firm Lee Harper Designs.

The conversion to a new home for Yoke was a balance between providing an efficient and comfortable working environment whilst respecting and enhancing the building’s previous industrial history, and doing so with a sense of fun and adventure.

The use of natural materials – timber, steel and concrete, combined with relaxed and communal working spaces were chosen to exemplify the spirit of the Yoke studio.

The new studio will house Yoke’s growing team, offer new space for photography and production services, while at the same time ensuring they stay close to the essential amenities (read good coffee and cold beer) offered by their fellow Collingwood traders.

To inform friends, family and acquaintances of the new digs – Yoke has launched a video – ‘Moving’.

Stand by for a launch party.
