Aussie expat Bruce Matchett to leave ECD role at Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore and Malaysia
Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore and Malaysia executive creative director Bruce Matchett has decided to retire and turn his attention to other creative projects.
Scottish-born Aussie expat Matchett joined Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore in 2010, and has also been creative director at Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand. He also has had a long career as ECD at Singleton Ogilvy & Mather Sydney and first worked in Asia as ECD at JWT India.
“It’s been a great experience being here in Singapore. Saatchi & Saatchi is brimming with confidence once again and there are some wonderfully talented people now in this office. I wish them every success,” says Matchett.
“It was Bruce who convinced me to come to Singapore three years ago and work with him and the passionate and dedicated individuals at Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore,” says Paul Roebuck, CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore and Malaysia. “While the Agency has grown to 120 people since then, Bruce remains one of the most truly creative people I have had the good fortune to work with and he will be missed greatly.”
An announcement of a new ECD for Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore and Malaysia will be made in the New Year.

Legend. One of the best guys to work with. Good luck mate. Foxy
Bruce is one of the most decent humans I’ve worked for in the business. If you get to have a coffee with him ask about his Buddhist retreat adventure. So happy for him that he’s now free to pursue “other creative projects”, although I haven’t heard fishing called that before. Thanks Bruce and best of luck.
Thanks for teaching me the art of swearing.
Bruce taught me to put things into perspective, to go with my gut and to never forget the journey is more important than the outcome because it is the journey that makes us who we are. Bruce, I’m so glad that you have decided to shake off the constraints of this industry, the world will be richer for it. Thanks for the belly full of laughs, we’ll have to meet over a bar of chocolate soon.
All the best Bruce. Glad we caught up, even though briefly at SPIKES, last year.
Ummm !
I would wish you the best of luck, but we both know that you’re the luckiest guy around.
