Former Jungleboys executive producer Alex Hay and director Abe Forsythe joins Rabbit’s roster

Australia and US based production company, Rabbit has kicked off the year by adding EP Alex Hay (near left) and director Abe Forsythe (far left) to its team. Hay has come across as joint executive producer, working alongside other EP, Lucas Jenner.

Both Hay and Forsythe were previously at Jungleboys.

Says Hay: “It was a difficult decision for both of us leave Jungleboys, but I have long admired the Rabbit brand and the amazing reputation it has in the US market. Being given the chance to establish and build Rabbit as a top production company in Australia was too good an opportunity to pass up. Having said that, Jungleboys will always have a special place in our hearts and I know they will continue their great momentum.”

Hay joins Rabbit with an impressive mix of agency and production company experience. Prior to her role as EP at Jungleboys, Alex was head of broadcast at George Patterson Y&R Sydney, as well as a stint at production company Luscious International and then 3 years in New York working for Y&R Brands.

Forsythe has gone from strength to strength as a comedy director. Highlights of last year included his much loved MasterCard ‘Pirates’ commercial, as well as a campaign for Allianz that involved blowing up a suburban house and a three car pile up.

Says Forsythe: “As a company, I really admire the way Rabbit is run and this move is the most significant step in my career thus far. To always achieve the best results, I consider my role as a director as one of collaboration. So the opportunity to continue my association with Alex, alongside people like Lucas, Owen and Dael was a no brainer. I’ve never felt more ready or excited to tackle new projects.”

Last year Rabbit launched quietly in Australia, but this year they plan to really establish themselves in the industry. Other directors on the Rabbit Australia roster include Dael Oates, Owen Trevor, as well as US based directors Bobby Farrelly, Jeff Low, Jacksonkarinja and Tim Abshire.

Says Lucas Jenner, Rabbit executive producer: “If either Alex or Abe joined the Rabbit family, I would have been excited but to have the two of them together is just amazing. They are both fantastic at what they do and are great people, two essential characteristics that are part of the Rabbit DNA.”
