Screen Shot 2014-02-27 at 8.58.11 am.jpgUK production company Blink has signed Australian director Nick Ball.

Ball is a film school dropout. He dropped out when he got into a fight with his professor of screenwriting – who had never written a script. There are situations you shouldn’t laugh at, and Ball’s work lives there. A keen observer and convicted eavesdropper, Ball’s ability to capture the “little moments” of character gives his work a broad accessibility that rings true with audiences across the globe.

Ball’s work for clients including Wrigley, Snickers, Kia and Yellow Pages continues to make big brands interesting, and demonstrates Ball’s talent for the observance of the fun and the funny.

The films that Ball has directed over the years have been recognised at major award shows including D&AD, Cannes, ONE Show, CLIOS, Spikes, AWARD and AXIS. His short films have won numerous awards on the festival circuit around the world. Ball currently has two feature films in development, both have received development funding from Screen Australia.

Ball is represented by Finch in Australia.
