CD Skip Waterhouse launches ‘Blood Bikes’ art exhibition on Feb 6, Lowroad Gallery, Paddington
Creative director Skip Waterhouse, has taken time out from advertising to complete a long-term art project, ‘Blood Bikes’ which will be on show at Lowroad Gallery, rear of 76 Oxford Street in Paddington on Thursday, February 6 from 6:30pm till late.
Says Waterhouse: “I’ve been working on the project for about four years now, collecting DNA from interesting bikes and cars and creating artworks out of them. Basically, I collect carbon from the muffler to mix with ink, and engine oil from the sump to use as paint.
“It’s amazing the amount of interest I’ve had in the artworks, hence my decision to immerse myself into it full time for a while. It’s a full time job completing all the commissions I’ve been given and, refreshingly, unlike the advertising, clients are usually amazingly pleased with the results.”
