JAMES-BURCHILL-NEW.jpgNANCY-HARTLEY-NEW.jpgCB Exclusive – Campaign Brief can reveal that Clemenger BBDO, Brisbane executive creative directors Nancy Hartley and James Burchill have resigned to start a yet to be revealed new venture.

The pair (pictured top) have been at the agency since June 2012, joining from SapientNitro where they were co-creative directors.

As a result of their departures the agency has promoted star creative team Cristian Staal and Marianne Harvey – pictured left, who also joined from SapientNitro that year – to new creative director roles.

Hartley and Burchill told CB: “We’re proud of what we’ve achieved at Clemenger and of the team we leave behind. We look forward to sharing more news.”

Says Clemenger BBDO, Brisbane managing director, Vanessa Brennan: “We wish Nancy and James all the best in their next pursuits. We’re also very excited about the new energy and ideas Cristian and Marianne bring to the management table.”

Says Staal and Harvey: “Rather than drop clichés about opportunity and teamwork, we’re just going to get stuck in and be the best CD’s we can be. If you’d like to be part of that, give us a call.”

Staal is one of the world’s most awarded creatives with multiple Cannes Grands Prix and two rare D&AD Black Pencils to his name, as one of the creators of Tourism Queensland’s groundbreaking Best Job in the World campaign – under CDs Hartley and Burchill. He and partner Harvey continued to produce work awarded at the highest level, adding another Cannes Gold Lion and Gold at LIA for their work on Earphone Bully.
