FedUni launches new 48hr application response and campaign via Cubed Communications

Fed Uni 48 Hour [4].jpgApplying for university can be life changing – particularly for mature age students. So the last thing potential applicants want is to be left waiting weeks for an answer. Federation University Australia has changed that by guaranteeing applicants an answer in just 48 hours.

To highlight this, Cubed has created a campaign based on other ‘achievements’ that have been made in just 48 hours to highlight what other life changing things can take place in that time.

The ‘Change your life in just 48 hours’ message is currently being rolled out across print, radio, social and online.

Says Phillip Crone, manager of marketing and communications at FedUni: “We wanted to shift the perception that applying for a university course took a long time, turning the time factor into a positive for students and differentiating ourselves against the competition.”

The campaign utilises humour, where banner ads feature a simple fact that a snail could travel an astonishing 1.52kms in 48 hours, and shows a ‘turbo powered’ snail zooming across the screen before nearly getting squished by the 48 hour guarantee stamp. The link takes students to a landing page that highlights an array of other interesting facts that have happened in 48 hours or less.

Bruce Williams, creative director at Cubed, says the use of humour in the creative approach helps students get more involved in the 48 hour concept.

Says Williams: “Whilst the profound notion of changing your life in 48 hours was the central theme, highlighting some quirky facts that also relate to a 48 hour period opened up an opportunity to be a bit light-hearted about the application process.”
