Previously Garbutt held the creative director role at DraftFCB Melbourne before it closed late last year due to the loss of Honda.

Garbutt now joins OBM to support its ongoing ambitions to deliver the best creative ideas for a growing and diverse list of clients.

Garbutt is a copywriter by trade and has worked at agencies including Grey, AJF Partnership, Draft FCB and Fenton Stephens.

Says Harry Corsham, director at OBM: “We are delighted to welcome Mat to OBM. We strive to produce better work all the time and Mat’s talents as a writer and his calm authority as a creative leader will significantly strengthen the agency’s creative output. No agency could ask for a nicer, smarter bloke to be at the helm of the ship. We’re very excited about Mat’s ambitions for the agency’s future creative work.”

Says Garbutt: “The really exciting thing about this role is the chance to help foster creativity right across the business. With everyone in the agency engaged and committed to producing great work, the sky’s the limit. Add to that the fact that it’s a fantastic culture filled with smart, friendly people and you couldn’t really ask for anything more. Happy, exciting times ahead.”
