The ‘Run Free’ campaign, shot on location at the Doomben Polo Fields depicts the glamour and excitement of the five week carnival via Kiaarn Holland, a 23-year-old jockey and strapper for two of Queensland’s best known racehorses, Spirit of Boom and Temple of Boom.

Engine Group managing director Tim Weger said the campaign tagline, ‘Run Free’ was designed to evoke the exhilaration of being trackside at the Brisbane Racing Carnival.

Says Weger: “The TVC represents the glamour and excitement of Queensland’s premier racing event. It’s an opportunity to escape the everyday and be more than yourself at the races.”

Brisbane Racing Club chief executive officer Dave Whimpey said the campaign’s countdown from five to one represents the five main days of the carnival.

Says Whimpey: “The number five is depicted through a custom made head piece by Brisbane milliner Laura Moss, four is represented by the use of a vintage bookmaker’s tote, while the number three is encompassed on an antique horse racing brooch.

“The grey horses that feature in the campaign are Clerks of the Course horses. Both Max and Joe were chosen for their beauty and placid nature. Who knows, the commercial may kick-start their Hollywood careers.”

The campaign was unveiled at the launch of the Brisbane Racing Carnival at Kangaroo Point last week and will feature on television, digital, social and outdoor channels across Australia and New Zealand from April to June.
