IMG_4982.jpgSydney based branded content house Projucer, has unveiled a new web series Andy & Ben Do Mexico, taking people on an insightful food orientated adventure through Mexico. Supported by partners Intrepid Travel, Old El Paso and Travel Insurance Direct, the series features MasterChef Australia 2012 winner Andy Allen and series finalist Ben Milbourne.

After becoming best mates during the fourth series of MasterChef, the two Aussie cooks are the centerpieces of the YouTube housed series, sharing with audiences their humourus and fast paced culinary experience across Mexico.

Shot in 2013, Allen and Milbourne took in the sights, smells, flavours and culture that the country has to offer during one of Intrepid Travel’s Real Food Adventure tours that took them to Mexico City, Puebla and Oaxaca, numerous Pacific Coast locations, and up into the Chiapas region.

The boys learnt about the tradition and passion that accompanies Mexican cooking whilst throwing themselves at a vast amount of experiences the country has on offer. The series aims to share these teachings and capture the boys’ experience for the audience, whilst supporting the brands associated with the production.

Says Allen: “It’s been a dream of mine and Ben since we met a couple of years ago to travel to Mexico to explore its diverse range of food and culture. It was such a cool feeling to see and touch the things we’d only read about in books. It inspired us, and reminded us how much we love Mexican food.”

Josh Capelin of Projucer said the project has had an excellent response prelaunch and social engagement towards the presenters has remained significant.

Says Capelin: “Fans of Andy & Ben have been waiting to see the boys in action again after Masterchef. Through this project, they are embracing the ability to engage with the audience via the easily accessible YouTube platform.”

Capelin said that as well as showing off the laconic on-screen chemistry between Andy & Ben, the series aimed to give Australians a better understanding of Mexican food and highlight the destination as an experiential holiday location whilst supporting the popular brands attached to the project.

Says Capelin: “These digitally strategic and socially-savvy partners are a perfect fit for the series that is part food, part travel, part adventure and part discovery. We’re seeing a big shift in companies engaging branded content strategies across online entertainment properties, over what you would call a usual media spend via traditional channels.”

The five episode series, released once a week for five weeks, is the first step in a longer-term vision.

Continues Capelin: “Andy & Ben are looking forward to exploring other food meccas around the globe, and big brands are already lining up to be a part of the journey.”

Projucer will launch this much anticipated web series on Thursday May 22 via YouTube. The Andy & Ben Do Mexico series will be published on Andy Allen’s official YouTube channel youtube.com/andyallencooks.
