Juror. brochure.jpgSydney branding agency Toast Creative was appointed by the NSW Department of Justice to create a brand identity and interface design for the government’s new jury management system, Juror. The project scope included creative direction across all visual communications and brand applications.

Juror letterhead.jpgJMS, or Juror, replaces the 20 year-old Jury Roll System (JRS). The purpose of Juror is to dramatically improve the jury service providing efficiencies throughout the process for both jurors and government. The new mobile interface intends to support the journey of the juror by providing a more simple, intuitive and straightforward Juror.Mobileapp.jpgexperience ultimately saving time for those selected.

Says Nick Sammut, managing director, Toast Creative: “This project will have significant positive outcomes for members of the public who are called for Jury Duty in NSW. We set out to create a friendly yet authoritative identity Juror.website.app.jpgand have worked with our client to establish this tone of voice along the jury (customer) journey.”

Toast Creative provided design direction in the development of a browser-based application for jurors and potential jurors. This was developed with a “mobile-first” philosophy, and through responsive design the application optimises effectively for all screen sizes from mobiles, tablets through to laptops and desktop computers. Toast worked collaboratively with Gerry Gaffney who led the implementation of the User Experience (UX) effectively through a user-centred strategy.

Toast’s brand strategy for Juror identified the actions of observing, listening and deciding as integral to the juror process. Images of people are used to portray a sense of ownership and responsibility so that jurors gain a sense of pride and civic duty from their participation in the NSW Jury Service. The overall design solution has been very careful to clearly communicate the purpose and intent of the jury service.

Amongst the broad suite of communications, Toast Creative has delivered brand guidelines for the juror interface across mobile and desktop, brochures and marketing collateral, templates and stationery, training materials and a Juror Journey map.
