NRMA_02.jpgWebling has just launched the Road Smart Kids app for NRMA, an innovative and fun approach to introducing road safety to kids.

The multi-platform app uses interactive tools, games and 3D animations to make it easy for parents to educate their children about road safety.

The app offers five entertaining games for children:

  • Go Stop Go Help Patrolman Dan on a 3D animated journey as he drives through town and helps motorists. On the way, learn more about being safe on the road.
  • Street Smarts Print off a marker and watch as your vehicle springs to life in this 3D augmented reality game.
  • Eye Spy Safari A fun digital version of a classic road trip favourite that challenges children to take photos of selected objects and share their success with family and friends on Facebook.
  • Number Plate Playroom The kids can create wacky sentences using a list of words, digitally draw a picture and save or share their masterpiece.
  • Car Wash Challenge Beat the clock while cleaning the NRMA Roadside Assist patrol van – just make sure you don’t splash the cat or Patrolman Dan!
  • The app is available to use across iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets. It also has a desktop version with related education resources designed to help schools teach road safety.

Says Cheridan Kerr, head of digital program delivery, NRMA: “We all want to know our children are safe on the road. With the NRMA Road Smart Kids app, kids will have a blast while learning about vitally important road safety issues.”

Says Deniz Nalbantoglu, MD, Webling: “Edutainment is a proven strategy for kids to learn and actually retain the content and context, and these days tablets and smartphones are the primary devices on which parents engage with their kids for content. So, for us, this app was the logical execution of NRMA’s vision to help educate Australian families about road safety and provide parents with the right tools to do so. We are proud to be NRMA’s partner in this worthy cause.”
