Zoo’s Mark Lees and Sean Cookson speak to Concord High School’s Year 10 ad students
When the Concord High School Year 10 cohort asked Zoo to speak to them as part of their advertising class the Sydney team were happy to oblige.
With the class studying advertising as part of their curriculum, the students were eager to hear about the subject from industry insiders. Mark Lees (Sydney’s creative director) and Sean Cookson (Sydney’s group account director) pooled their experience and spoke about the creative process, steps in campaigns and how to start a career in advertising.
Says Simon Cubbin, Sydney MD: “It’s important for Zoo to contribute and give back to the community; helping out and doing pro bono work where we can is part of our DNA as an agency. The work we are doing with the students at Concord High School is an exciting initiative to be involved with.”
As part of Zoo’s continuing support, Lees and Cookson will return to Concord High School and assist with the judging of student campaigns.

Wow big news! Upward and onward guys.
Get in there Leesy!
Is this a joke PR release? Please tell me it is….was this a client presentation that went wrong? Why talk to year 10, was there an influential parent there were really trying to impress? Are they using their fresh young minds as cheap labour? There must be more to this story….actually, who cares.
People in year 10 are studying advertising?
Isn’t that child abuse?
Why does everyone feel the need to PR everything?
