Morris & Partners becomes Spark44 Sydney; M&P founder David Morris to retire in the next year
Spark44, Jaguar Land Rover’s global marketing joint-venture is opening its 6th office in Sydney. Morris & Partners, who have been the partner of choice for Land Rover Australia since 1997, will be integrated into the global Spark44 network as of Dec 1. This new office will handle both Jaguar and Land Rover brands in Australia.
Spark44 was founded in 2011 and is the global lead agency for the Jaguar brand. Today Spark44 is operating out of five agency hubs in Los Angeles, Frankfurt, London, Birmingham and Shanghai. More than 250 members of staff act as JLR´s demand creation partner focusing on the end-to-end management of the marketing funnel.
M&P founder David Morris (near left) is retiring in the next year and will be managing the transition with the new local management which is currently being identified.
Says Morris: “Handing over something that has been a significant part of your life for a long time is never easy. I am happy that we have been able to create a win-win situation for our client Jaguar Land Rover Australia and the staff at M&P by becoming Spark44 Sydney.”
Says Ralf Specht (above left), chief operating officer at Spark44: “We are delighted to build on what David Morris and his business partner Sally McGlashan have created over the years. Spark44 will provide a communication offering to Jaguar and Land Rover here in Australia that ensures the marcom impact that these two iconic brands truly deserve.”
Says Kevin Nicholls, Jaguar Land Rover Australia´s marketing director: “Our plans for both brands are ambitious – our new dedicated partner Spark44 here in Sydney is going to ensure the highest standards across all channels towards the consumer and our retail franchise partners.”

Well done. I don’t know anyone involved but they seem like nice people.
Jag & LR are on a roll with some spanking looking metal in recent years and it’s nice to see people who have a crack getting rewarded.
I would add that I can’t help but think that “Park4” is a better name than “Spark44” but that’s your call. It would involve Ralf and David standing in front of the sign 24/7 but on a positive note it may give David something to do in his retirement.
